Resources Without a System

Hundreds of teaching materials, no way to allocate them.

The client runs a curricular engagement programme that builds students’ skills through curiosity, choice and challenge: curriculum-referenced, blended-learning ready, for learners aged 8 to 14.

What we found

  • Paper would not scale

Allocating resources by hand was going to be completely unmanageable.

  • Challenges meet materials

Every student challenge needed the right teacher support, across many topics.

  • Two audiences

Teachers plan and track; students aged 8 to 14 choose and explore.

  • Start small, grow

A modest first investment that could expand with the programme.

In detail

  1. 01

Each challenge, from historical inventions to climate change, comes with teacher support materials. As the library grew, matching the right materials to the right students became a task in itself.

  2. 02

A paper-based system was considered first and quickly ruled out: with this many challenges, topics and classes it would have been completely unmanageable.

  3. 03

The programme needed a system that teachers could run day to day, and that could start small and grow with the number of schools using it.

02 · The solution

A Learning-Resource Hub

A database app matching challenges to teacher materials.

Together with the programme team we scoped a database application that connects challenges with teacher support materials and allocates them to students’ learning journeys.

What we built

A learning-resource hub that grew step by step with the programme

  • Resource database

Teaching materials organized by topic, challenge and level.

  • Allocation workflow

Challenges such as historical inventions or climate change matched to support materials.

  • Progress tracking

Real-time feedback and progress across missions and challenges.

  • Step-by-step delivery

A first version at a modest investment, extended as the programme grew.

In detail

  1. 01

Built with .NET, SQL/PostgreSQL and React, the platform was designed for efficient initial delivery and continuous improvement based on real classroom use.

  2. 02

Teachers work from one place: the challenge library, the materials behind each challenge and the allocation to their classes.

  3. 03

Progress tracking and real-time feedback follow students through missions and challenges, so teachers see where each learner stands.

03 · The result

Better Access to Teaching Resources

Teachers can find and assign learning resources through one centralized application.

Teachers allocate teaching resources to students from one system instead of paper or spreadsheets.

What changed

  • Resources allocated

More teaching resources reach students, without spreadsheets or paper.

  • Teachers in control

Planning, allocation and tracking in one place.

  • Learning at scale

A blended-learning programme ready for more schools and classes.

  • Room to grow

The platform kept expanding as the programme evolved.

In detail

  1. 01

The programme could grow without the allocation work growing with it, and new challenges slot into the same structure.

  2. 02

What started as a modest first step became a platform the programme keeps building on.

What the client says

In the client’s words

Without them, our business ideas would never have progressed beyond the first draft stage.

Director · Education & EdTech

When you have a business idea you want to develop, finding a strong and reliable technology partner is essential, and not always easy.

As a UK-based company, we wanted to work with US-based developers. After speaking with several teams, we chose Aionis. From our earliest discussions, their positive, can-do approach gave us confidence in their ability to deliver.

We have worked together for many years, and throughout that time Aionis have consistently provided the highest level of service, with personal and swift responses.

Their knowledge and technical expertise helped our ideas quickly take shape and mature into smoothly operating software that matched our vision while improving functionality.

Even when I struggled to explain technical requirements or use the correct terminology, they always responded with understanding and patience, ensuring our objectives were met and exceeded.

I strongly recommend Aionis. Without them, our business ideas would never have progressed beyond the first draft stage.
